Getting Press in Metro
and Santa Cruz Weekly

Getting Press in Metro
The best way to communicate with METRO is in writing. Editors will accept telephone calls at 408.298.8000, but they prefer to receive information in print or electronically. The paper is divided into three sections: Metropolis (city and county news), MetroGuide (arts and entertainment coverage) and MetroMenu (stories about food, wine and dining).

Fax information to 408.298.0602 or mail to METRO, 380 S. First St., San Jose, CA 95113. Please include name and daytime phone, so we can contact you. Or, one of the fastest ways to reach us is via email. Send letters to the editor to [email protected].

Getting Press in Santa Cruz Weekly

Fax information to 831.457.5828 or mail to SANTA CRUZ WEEKLY, 115 Cooper St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060. Please include name and daytime phone, so we can contact you. Or, one of the fastest ways to reach us is via email. Send letters to the editor to [email protected].

News Tips
Mail to "Attn: News Editor."

Calendar
Send information of events to "Attn: Calendar." All releases should arrive on letter-sized pages and should have the date of the event displayed along with a public information number, a street address and ticket prices. Performances, festivals, poetry readings or lectures are featured in the paper's two-page calendar or in the stage, art or event listings. Send releases at least two weeks before event. E-mail: [email protected].

Club and concert listings are incorporated into the music listings. To send information to this section, address mail to "Attn: Music Listings." E-mail: [email protected].

If your event is a major musical, dramatic or dance production, send an additional copy to "Attn: Arts Editor." E-mail: [email protected].

Metro accepts color digital images via e-mail. Images should have an effective print resolution of at least 180 DPI.

METRO tries to include a variety of events; if you have a weekly event, we will not list it every time. Also, Metro's editors are most likely to list events that will interest readers throughout the coverage area; we usually don't include events that will appeal to a small, local audience.

Food and Dining News
If your restaurant has a newsworthy development--a new chef, a change in cuisine, a new branch--we encourage you to inform us in writing. Send to "Attn: Dining News."

Other Consumer News
METRO and SANTA CRUZ WEEKLY do not have business or consumer sections, although there are special issues that cover additional topics, such a health and fitness, or education. See our editorial calendar for details. Send relevant material to "Attn: Special Sections Editor."
